Developing Leadership
The modern NHS is acutely aware of the importance of leadership training
and in this session, time will be spent examining the principles of effective
leadership and learning how to apply them in medical practice.
Duration: Half-day
Methods: Interactive lecture and demonstration supported by visual and auditory aids. Various questionnaires, self-assessments, and reflective exercises.
Suitable for: For doctors who are currently in leadership positions and those who aspire to be. Also, those who may be interested to learn about the ways in which effective leaders achieve their personal and professional objectives.
Objectives: Attendees will learn the importance of Vision, Accountability, Discipline, Goal-setting, Time-management and execution in effective leadership. Time will be spent highlighting and discussing the importance of the seven-step model in developing personal leadership qualities to full potential.
Although some time will be spent on leadership theory, main emphasis will be upon detailed disciplines which are practical on a daily basis and will readily transfer to the workplace.
