Managing Stress and Improving Work-Life Balance
Doctors will learn the two-step approach for achieving healthy work-life
balance and whilst no one is immune from the effects of stress, they will
develop coping strategies to recognise and minimise negative impact.
Duration: Half-Day
Methods: Interactive lecture and demonstration supported by visual and questionnaires. Practical exercises and self-assessment questionnaires.
Suitable for: Those doctors who have an interest in, or feel themselves at increased risk of, work-related stress. Those who seek to improve their balance between working and living for themselves and their families.
Objectives: Delegates will complete a number of questionnaires designed to give insight into their current levels of stress. Time will be spent looking at the background physiology of stress reactions and associated symptoms and how to identify them. Coping strategies will be reviewed – time management, nutrition, exercise and relaxation, meditation, and the development and maintenance of healthy relationships. By the end of the course, attendees will be encouraged to develop their own personal stress management plan.
